My name is Aubree and I am a senior at Seabreeze High School. I am in our Color Guard and know how to spin flags, and fake rifles and swords. I also can play the cello but I have to admit that I am not very good at it. I am about to go to college next year to become a nurse and although I am very excited, I’m scared to be on my own and away from my family. My favorite food is chicken nuggets. I also have a five year old brother named Eli and he’s awesome.
Children's Poem
What It’s Like to Hug a Wave
By: Aubree Fillyaw
The waves wash upon me And I greet them with
ease Over the horizon is all I can see But thinking
of the future can make me wheeze.
Growing up brings excitement
with a hint of fear Just like the
ocean’s enticement Not knowing
what’s near.
Whenever I am scared I am wrapped
in a hug of salt The ocean is the only
one I’ve paired It still accepts me
and all my faults.
I know that however far away from home I
will always have the comfort of the ocean
you nor I will ever be alone.
