Laken Giles
When one chapter ends,
A new one begins.
Finding myself surrounded,
With a new circle of friends.
Ambition in my pocket,
Dreams in my heart,
The past few years prepared me,
For the life I am about to start.
Bright lights, big city,
My eyes will soon grow familiar,
With a different kind of pretty.
No more palm trees,
Or afternoons by the sea,
But then again that never was,
Quite my cup of tea.
