Surf

The beach is calling my name.
The waves wash up on shore
Waiting for me to swim out to them
They are massive and lure me.
I bobble up and down like a seagull,
The clouds disappear for miles
And I sit on my board
Waiting for the perfect wave.
Waves keep being built up,
But come crashing down too early.
It feels like hours have gone by,
But in reality only minutes have passed.
After a million waves have crashed by,
And before I am about to give up
And swim back to shore
The perfect wave begins to form.
Before long,
I turn my surfboard around
Starting to paddle back to shore,
Forcing my body into the perfect position.
It isn’t long before I am smiling.
I ride the wave all the way back to shore,
Turn around and wait for another.
