It was an average Friday night as I sat alone on the edge of my bed and began a new episode of Shameless. I ran downstairs, grabbed a bag of Spicy Nacho Doritos and a Gatorade from the fridge and headed back up to my room to continue binge watching Netflix. As a took my first step up the stairs, I noticed a shadow behind me and heard a little noise coming from the back door. My parents had left me home alone for the weekend so I was confused as to who or what was behind me. My first instinct was to just let it go, hoping that it had just been my cat on the kitchen table. However, as I continued up the stairs, the noise grew into a scratching against the door. I began to get nervous. I stepped back off the staircase and looked at the back door to see a shadow through the window, as I made my way closer to the door, the shadow disappeared but the noise got louder. I found myself moving closer and closer as if something inside of me knew I had to open it. Until I heard something so chilling it made my entire body freeze in midstep, “Come closer” the voice said, “Come join me.” Every inch of me was frozen in place, then the shadow began to move back up to the window, it was black and faceless, it was entirely a shadow. I felt a sharp cold breeze blow against my back, I turned around as I heard the front door open as the faceless person grabbed me. That was the last thing I remembered before waking up in a daze. Every time I closed my eyes I was out again. I finally had the strength to keep them open. I looked around. What was this place? All I saw were bright lights, like I was in a hospital, but I saw no one. No window, no door, no exit in sight. If I got in here, there had to be a way out. I tried to get up but I was in restraints. How long had I been here? Who brought me here? And why? That was the last thought I had before I was sedated again. I woke up again and all I could see was a mask, a scary one thats for sure. I started screaming and the person held my mouth shut almost suffocating me. It felt as if i were dreaming, but i knew this was real. I heard a faint noise in the back of my head, “Lexi”? “Lexi are you awake up there”. I jumped. Looking around to find myself back at home in my own bed. My best friend stood there over top of me, staring into my sleepy eyes. It was as if I had never left. However I knew that I had gone to an unknown place and I never want to go back. This was only the first night of my long weekend alone and I knew this was not going to the first time I was going to this unknown place.
