Most Poems
By: Maryam El Jaoussi
Most poems
Talk about love,
And how broken love is,
And how love is able to break a million hearts.
But no one talks about how love can repair the wounds
That were once broken by it;
Love.
Most poems
Deceive the loyalty
And betray the reader by only speaking of
Betrayal.
Most poems
Keep their talent a secret for a lifetime
And are doubtfully mistaken for an eternity
For every talent they hid.
Most poems
Broadcast every good action,
And modestly cover up their bad ones.
Passing them out to the humble ones,
Who only reveal their good deeds to God.
Most poems
Look good on the outside
You hear their title and become enchanted,
But these poems are never usually the right ones
Because the right poems are placed on the left shelf
Next to the “ not good enough “ pile.
Because they aren’t like most poems.
Most poems
Make the optimist feel like they aren’t making sense,
And allow the positivity to go down the drain of destruction,
But this poem
Is unlike most poems.
It celebrates the words not the length or size
It may speak of running ,
Yet the reader does not wish to run away,
From the sincerity of this poem.
The poem of very few
That are placed on the left side of the shelf,
Because they’re everything but right
They are different.
