My name is Niko Karamitos and I am a senior at Seabreeze High School. My hobbies are playing soccer, guitar, and I have been doing art ever since I was a little kid. I wrote this poem because I realize how important it was for me to be able to go outside and play with friends when I was a little kid. I watched my little cousin grow up attached to either an ipod, ipad, or xbox and it makes me sad. I want him to have the same great experiences I had as a child getting to just go outside and have fun being a kid. I hope that this teaches a lesson to the children reading this to use their imagination and to go outside and enjoy life as a kid.
Children's Poem
Video Games

Oh my sweet child
Let your imagination run wild
The world is your playground
Not that screen to which you are bound.
I ask that you put down that phone
But all you do is groan and moan
Go and fly a kite
Go explore new heights
Because you can do anything
From running and kicking
To jumping and skipping
The games you play only turn your brain to mush
Perhaps try picking up a paint brush
So please my sweet kid
These video games have been overdid
Go out and play
I promise that you won’t regret your day!
