From the Nest
I am not quite sure
Whether it is the fluttering idea
Or the blatant actuality
That makes me think so deeply
Breathe so heavily
Like a bird with the promise of flight
I teeter on the edge of the precipice
Looking down at the world below me
But day dreaming sweet nothings of the one above
Lavender skies
Feeling engulfed in its tender caress
What it means to be beautiful
Is not as rudimentary as it seems
What causes the eyes to gleam and pleasantry to ring in the ears of many
My figurative love dances in the mirror
Beauty is all around us
I flap just once
And fly out of the nest
